Not to be outdone on the pop-up front, St Martin’s Lane Hotel has joined the ranks with a ceviche and cocktail bar. Screaming Starck and style, this is a place to see and be seen in so it’s only fitting that the food and drink is tailored to ‘accessorise’ the clientele. The hotel’s award-winning restaurant Asia de Cuba has set up shop in ‘The Front Room’ for the month of July.
Their chefs have developed a ceviche menu which features traditional recipes with modern twists including Scottish Salmon and Salted
Avocado Helado (£5.00); Curry Kingfish and Passionfruit (£6.00); Grouper, Seville Orange and Aji Amarillo (£6.00); and Prawn, Snapper and ‘Confit’ Watermelon.
After this week’s launch I can vouch for the Mojito’s made with that brain blasting Appleton’s Rum and the Prawn, Snapper and Confit Watermelon dish (£5.00).
Grab some Mexican doughnuts (£3.50) while you’re there too, it’s one of their signature dishes – the dulce de leche sauce is beyond delicious.
The Front Room can be found at 45 St Martin’s Lane, WC2N 4HX.
The pop up runs until 25 July and opens from 11.30am-7.30pm.
