Pieminister Christmas Pies

Pieminister Christmas Pies

I love a pie.  My favourite would be plump, generously meat-filled with THE crispest pastry, served with nursery-soft potato, lashings of gravy and some green vegetables.  Just as well that Pieminister are on the market because their pies are better than my Mum’s (and that’s saying something).

Pieminister Steak Pie

The pastry is uniform on every pie, and I know, because I was sent six to try.  There was no scrimping on filling and the pastry was thick enough, but not hefty, and held the liquid and generous contents within.

Pieminister Pies

They’ve messed around with a few names but their cheeky titles no way belittle the quality of the pie.

Pieminister Pie

I’d not tried them before until I was sent the Christmas range to try, and I’m not quite sure why I’ve left it so long.

Packed in a sturdy crush-proof box, your pie will stay in pristine condition until it gets put into a hot oven.

Here are the Christmas pies on offer

Merry Berry

A free range British turkey, bacon & cranberry pie with red wine & sherry.

Christingle

Honey roast parsnip, Cheddar cheese & chestnut pie – fabulous.  Roasted parsnips were stuffed into a chestnut-chunky pie with mature cheddar.
Deer Santa
This pie provoked plenty of oohs and aahs as Mr tore through the meaty venison and bacon packed, red wine and puy lentil filling.  Definitely getting more of these babies if it keeps him happy for twenty minutes or so.
Mistelmoo
Is another winner and a great, traditional, meaty British beef steak pie with Long Clawson Stilton, prosciutto & chestnut pie with pork.
I’m slightly worried for my waistline, as you can buy six pies with one click for £21.00 and they freeze beautifully, they’re also available in Waitrose and Ocado.  So a Pieminister Pie can be yours for at least six months and not just for Christmas.
Pieminister have restaurants all over the UK and for a look at their full range, visit their website.
