Everyone gets a little peckish when they’re drinking and now you can grab a fruity snack, without moving an inch.
Loliware are edible, flavoured cups and they’re the brainchild of industrial designers with a taste for Jell-O (jelly to you and me) and a love for the planet.
They’ve developed a cup made from all-natural ingredients, which include organic cane sugar, organic tapioca syrup, vegan gelatine, extracted from seaweed, and natural flavouring and colouring with a confectionary sugar-coating.
These cups are available in a series of flavours and are great for not only drinks, but desserts.
Available only in America. Lucky me, I was given one to try by a colleague who knows I write this blog. I had a citrus cup and whipped up a basil, cucumber and lime gimlet. I did eat the cup after finishing the cocktail and it tastes a lot like fruit leather, although I suspect it’s more about the novelty value and sustainability rather than flavour.
Ingredients
Add the liquid and fill the shaker up with ice.
Shake well and strain into a short glass filled with fresh ice.
Garnish with lime and a fresh basil leaf.
The cups aren’t just for alcohol, great with fruity soft drinks and perfect for desserts and sorbets.
